HAPPY EASTER!

We are having a beautiful spring day today! It's sunny and around 60 degrees. The kids were up early to hunt for Easter Eggs around the house. Adalyn even did pretty well on her own, though we also helped her along, pointing to a few places we thought she should look. It is so fun to watch the little ones get soooo excited!

Adalyn made it through another Sunday in nursery without freaking out! Ryan even had to leave her early so he could run home before teaching his lesson. He felt pretty bad leaving her and was worried that she would be sad and withdraw from the group, but when I looked in on her in between classes she was doing great! This is real progress for her and a big relief for me.

The elementary kids are off track right now and Andrew was out of school Thursday, Friday, and will have Monday off, for their "Spring Break." We went to the zoo with Jenny, Brent & Ammon on Wednesday. Another beautiful day. I was a little worried when we first got there because the parking lot was full, but luckily it was to our advantage that we had gone later in the day, and a lot of people were on their way out soon after we arrived. Adalyn was very excited to see all the animals. She especially enjoyed watching the monkeys run around the tree branches and rocks. Austyn was mostly excited to play on the playground and hoping to ride the train. Unfortunately, he was suddenly starving when we actually started walking around to see the animals and was whining about that for a lot of our visit. Ashley had the camera for the day, so she was the photographer for this trip.

Spring arrived Thursday morning with a fresh blanket of snow. It wasn't deep, but it was a shock for the kids as they came up for breakfast dressed in their "summer" clothes. I heard a lot of "WHAT?!, Snow Again?!" I reassured them that the snow would be gone by the end of the day, which it was, and they were outside again by late afternoon.

We are supposed to be at the in-laws' for dinner right now, but my "potato casserole" is still in the oven. I was a little slow getting it started after church, as I needed to lie down for just a few minutes. It is almost ready, though, so we will have to get going soon.

Just some of the usual stuff planned for this week: A couple doctor checkups for my older girls, Relief Society Birthday Dinner, piano lessons, dance, swimming. We do have a ward Kite Flying Activity coming up this Saturday, so hopefully the weather will cooperate for that and we can get some good wind that day.

I did a lot of cleaning up and cleaning out over the weekend and I am much closer to getting the girls back up into their bedroom. I really enjoy having their room for an office as well, so we may have to continue to share. At least, if we can get their bed up here and out of the family room, we can get our big screen back from Nate & Em. Ryan is really anxious to get our "entertainment center" back into the basement, as he does not like the kids hanging out in our room to watch movies all the time. So, maybe by next weekend!

The bishop just informed our ward today that our building will be undergoing a "seismic upgrade" beginning in July. I guess the biggest impact of this is that our ward will be unable to meet in our building for about a year. Not yet sure where we will meet, probably another building in our stake, but it will be weird having to drive to church all the time. I guess I've just been taking for granted the convenience we have in this neighborhood with our church and schools all within 2 blocks of us.

Well, I hope you all had a Happy Easter. Looking forward to the next holiday, would that be Memorial Day? April seems pretty empty when we celebrate Easter in March. I guess there is Earth Day, April 22nd, maybe we'll have to plant a tree or something. :-)

Hi Julie! You're such a busy lady. How do you do it all?

My brother Chris in Spokane had five inches of snow on Saturday. They're wondering when spring will truly arrive, too.

As for us, it was a beautiful day in So Cal, but just as expensive as ever!
