Spring Again!!

So happy to have spring back in our neck of the woods. Our temps are going to be near 70 today!!! Awesome!! Spring and fall are my favorite seasons. I love the changing weather and the mild temps.

Our last storm left a lot of dirty white spots on our living room windows, which would bug me every time I opened the curtains. There must have been some pretty dirty air when the rain started. So, Friday evening I finally decided to clean them. So much nicer!! I trimmed the bush in front of our house so it doesn't totally block our view, but I may need to trim a little more. I love to have the sun shining in the house, everything is so much brighter. I just have to keep the living room clean so I'm not embarrassed when someone comes onto the porch. :)

I did a little better with my work this past week, though I still had a lot to make up this weekend. I worked for a while Saturday morning and early afternoon, but then we were all getting restless. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anyone to visit, so we just took a drive and stopped at a couple DI's (looking for shoes for Andrew) and the grocery store for a treat. Not a whole lot of fun, but at least we got out of the house for a couple of hours.

Sunday we had Stake Conference. Since our Stake Center is currently under construction, we had our Stake Conference in the auditorium of the local high school. The kids thought this was pretty cool. We did arrive about 25 minutes late, but we didn't really miss too much. We sat in an overflow room just outside of the auditorium and watched on a big screen from there. The kids enjoyed sitting in the "desks," which also made it much easier for coloring. I was able to listen without too much distraction, as Andrew was following Addie around the school for most of the meeting. :) It was nice to be home from church just after noon and I spent the rest of the afternoon catching up on work. The weather was quite nice and the kids spent a lot of time playing outside and not much time distracting me, so I was able to get quite a bit done before dinner.

Adalyn will start her new "Early 3's" preschool today, and I am looking forward to that. It is not as conveniently located as her last preschool, so I am not yet sure if I will be able to use that time to go to the gym as I had in the past. She is finally starting to talk a little more and can often describe what she needs, though still using just a few words, no sentences yet. It isn't very often that she will put more than 3 words together, but she does say "that's not fair" a lot. She has finally started saying "Yep" as her yes answer. Up until recently, we would only know she meant "yes" if she didn't say "NO." She loves to talk to Daddy on the phone, even though he can't understand much of what she says.

We are so excited that Ryan will probably be coming home this week!! He has been gone for almost 7 weeks now! We don't know exactly when he'll be here, it will just be as soon as they get a load going through Salt Lake City. They've been driving around the Eastern states for the past week, spending this last weekend in Wisconsin and on their way to Minnesota today. He has definitely been seeing a lot of the country over this past several weeks. Thankfully, he has been very blessed and has not had to drive in any really bad weather so far. He's missing us a lot, though, and we are still hoping to find him some local work as soon as possible.

I've been cleaning and rearranging and cleaning some more around the house. I got a new bed frame and headboard for my bed, as we didn't have a headboard before and the frame had a broken leg in the middle. With the new headboard, it was much more obvious that my bed was not centered under the window, which bugged me, so I had to move it over about a foot. In doing this, it seemed to crowd The other side of the room, so I moved the dresser and nightstand to my side of the bed to even things out. Of course, this revealed a mess of dust & things that had been hiding under the bed and/or behind the dresser, so I've been working on cleaning in there. I have a box of stuff that I collected from around my room, that doesn't belong in my room, so now I am working on putting that stuff away. Just one more project to keep me busy.

I have been eating a lot of granola with yogurt lately, so I thought it would be a good idea to make my own granola. I found a couple recipes online that looked like they would be near what I was looking for. After experimenting with a couple variations of these recipes, I finally found a good combination. It is still not exactly what I was hoping for, but it turned out pretty good and was relatively simple to make and much less expensive!

Well, I better get started on my work. {:-)
