Another Monday and the start of another busy week. My work is slow as we get into the summer and out of the busy flu and RSV season in the health world. It would be a nice break if we could afford it, but with recent car repairs we've drained our savings and need to build it up again. I should be able to get some work by this afternoon, so this morning I will work on getting the house in order so I will be able to take the time to work after the girls go to school.
Andrew had a really fun time at camp last week. He spent much of the time hiking and didn't get much sleep, it was a blast. We were excited to have him home and after a few days of catching up on sleep he is back into the swing of things and being very helpful around here.
We had a nice break from the heat Saturday evening as we drove up the canyon to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I love the mountains! The kids enjoyed running around, exploring, hiking, collecting kindling for the fire and roasting the marshmallows. We went later in the evening so we couldn't stay too long, but it was still nice to go.
The girls have a new favorite movie that just came to DVD, it's called "Aquamarine". They have been wanting to watch it every day since we got it. It's about a real mermaid who comes on land looking for love. It's cute and a pretty funny show.
Ryan has been struggling with his carpal tunnel again. It had gotten pretty bad back in February and surgery was recommended for both wrists, but since I was about to have a baby we opted for cortisone shots instead to see if that would help. The shots have given him relief for the past four months, but this past couple weeks he started having the numbness and pain again. Then Tuesday night the pain was so bad he couldn't sleep. He missed work on Wednesday and was able to get in to see the doctor for another cortisone shot. Unfortunately this time he has not gotten the relief he experienced previously and surgery is again recommended. He also consulted with a chiropractor about a non-invasive cold laser treatment that can be done over a six week period. As we want to avoid surgery if at all possible, we are opting for the laser treatment and praying for success and relief.
Well, I guess it's time to get to work.
